Exploring Program
Want another way to explore career opportunities? Exploring is a worksite-based program provided through an organization called Learning for Life. They provide career education programs for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years old.
Exploring units, called "posts" focus on a specific career field, such as law enforcement, fire & emergency, health care, law, computer science and engineering just to name a few. Explorers meet at local businesses to learn more about the specific career. Exploring provides an opportunity for students to try out the career in a variety of ways. Such as network with professionals in your career of interest, get hands on experience doing what the professional do, learn about education requirements for the career, and build leadership skills. Exploring posts meet on a weekly or monthly basis at the company chartering the program. Meetings run after school or in the early evening.
